Welcome to 1st grade!
First grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions, as well as one in which acquisition of new skills is accelerated. During first grade, your child will learn how to read, write stories, add, subtract, and so much more. I hope to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one, and I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling. I believe that by all of us working together we will have a successful year! |
About Me...
Let me tell you a little about myself, I was born and raised in New Bern. I love to go on boat rides and fishing. I graduated from ECU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I did my Student Teaching in 3rd grade at Roger Bell Elementary. I have taught for 5 years at Bangert Elementary. I love learning new methods to help my students grow and succeed to the best of their ability. To be able to implement new methods into the classroom I have decided to attend a graduate program at UNCW for Language and Literacy beginning Fall 2013. This program will help me excel in the classroom as a 21st Century Teacher as well as a 21 Century Learner. This degree will allow me to improve different methods of instruction that I can deliver regularly in the classroom. I do not have children of my own. However, during the school year I tend to think I have an entire classroom full! I recently got married this summer to my best friend, Phillip. Together we have a dog that is very spoiled and hyper. He is a lab and his name is Jackson. If you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to contact me. |
